Installing IIS FTP On Microsoft Azure VM



In this article we will discuss about how to install Internet Information Services (IIS) and FTP On your Microsoft Azure VM. You can read this article "Microsoft Azure Create Virtual Machine From Azure Management Portal" to create a Virtual Machine on Microsoft Azure. If you are look for setting up a website on your VM read this article, for setting up your FTP read this article

Step 1 Add Roles And Features

Open Server Manager




In the manage menu select add roles and features. This application will allow you to add new features to the server.




Select role based or feature based installation.


Select Server From Server Pool



Select from the server pool. In this case I have only one server.



Roles Selection



Select the roles you would like to install. I am installing both FTP server and FTP. From the server role options under web server IIS select FTP server and IIS Management console and IIS Management Scripts and Tools under management tools and click on next.


Add Features



I have selected .Net framework 3.5 and 4 for my web applications.


Confirmation Page



Click on confirm to finish installation.




Select the roles you would like to install.
