Creating A Database In MSSQL Using SQL Server Management Studio

Creation Of Database And Basic Opertaions



In this article , we will give you a brief idea about SQL management studio Creation of a simple database,tables and basic operations
Step :1 Open the SQL management studio and provide the necessary details like username and password then click on 'connect' as shown in figure



Step : 2 Creation of new database. Click on the database Listed left in the object explorer and select the new database.



Step : 3 Type the database name in the specified column and also click OK



Step : 4 Refresh the database ,then we can see the database that created.Select tables on it to create new tables in it.



Step : 5 Then we can add fields to the table with our specification.



Step : 6 One of the basic operation is inserting values in to the table.Click on 'new query' and add query for inserting values in to the table.



Step : 7 Likewise we can add any no. of values in to the tables.



Step : 8 We can also display the values in the tables.



Step : 9 Delete a value from database using the following query will delete the a row or specified row from table.



There is an MDF file in SQL.SQL Server databases use two files - an MDF file, known as the primary database file, which contains the schema and data, and a LDF file, which contains the logs.

In order to attach MDF file in to the database .Click on the database and select 'attach' from the menu that appears.



Select the mdf file from the system and then click ok to attach the chosen .mdf file. MDF file can be obtained by typing the following query in the sql sever management studio window



sp_helpfile


Thus we can obtain the path of mdf file
